Flection

This is the first work in a collaborative partnership with Alicja Mrozowska exploring a fluid dialogue between painting, light and sound. Our work investigates themes around identity, reality and the flux of human perception. Fusing traditional and modern mediums, we invite the audience to look, listen and think again, as figurative becomes abstracted and shifting  versions of reality emerge.

Flection imagines an explorer seeking direction and identity within a shifting landscape. They navigate the scene before them, organically becoming a part of the environment whilst being challenged by it. The soundscape forms a meditative counterpoint, using abstracted field recordings to create waves of nebulous texture, prompting reflection.

This first version of the piece was exhibited in 2019 at Elmwood Uprising.
